A. Important Information for Students
- Visa Matters Are Personal Responsibilities.
Each student is responsible for knowing their own visa expiration date. - 45–Day Rule for Visa Renewal.
According to immigration regulations, students shall renew their visas up to 45 days before their current visa expires.
Applications submitted earlier than this will not be processed by the immigration office. - Student Responsibilities for Visa Renewal.
You are responsible for paying the visa renewal fee and submitting the documents provided by the university to the Immigration Office yourself. - Visa Renewal Must Be Done in Chiang Mai.
As a Chiang Mai University student, you must renew your visa at the Chiang Mai Immigration Office only. Applications cannot be submitted to other provincial offices.” - New Regulations for “Non–ed Plus” Students.
Students who have extended their visa to the “non–ed Plus” type no longer need to apply for a “re-entry permit” with immigration officials when temporarily leaving Thailand.

** A form used in Thailand for the notification of residence of foreigners. It’s a legal requirement for landlords, house owners, or property managers to report the stay of the non-Thai national residing on their property. Student can ask from the house/apartment owner/condominium manager for the TM.30” |
